Popped Passion at the Winter Fancy Food Show San Francisco




 

The magic was in the air as we rode the escalator to the second floor, where the new and innovative foods would be on display for 3 whole days. We, along with hundreds of other exhibitors, arrived early in the morning to finish setting up our booths and making sure that everything was perfect. We listened as people made their final decisions on their displays, and had the opportunity to be the first taste testers of several unique and delicious foods.  We found ourselves completely enraptured by the joy of food. As we stood in our booth waiting for our first guests, jittery with excitement and nerves, we knew that we had come to the right place.

 

Being a beginner at something is always so exciting. There is always so much to learn, and what feels like a million opportunities just waiting for you to take hold of them. This is what it felt like for us to be exhibiting at the Winter Fancy Food Show. We had walked the floor the previous year, but it is an entirely different story to be an exhibitor for the first time. It was the first time we let hundreds of people into our little world of popcorn cakes. This world that has led to so much joy, excitement, wonder, frustration, exhaustion, and reward. We were presenting our brand, our popcorn cakes to some of the most important people in the food industry!

 

The days were filled with meeting and speaking with the industry’s finest. Every day on the way back to our hotel we wondered how we could possibly meet more people the following day. We gathered wisdom and advice from people who have been in the industry for over 20 years. We discovered our strengths and weaknesses, had the opportunity to speak with some of the food industry’s biggest players, and figured out where our cakes would do best in the retail market. We even celebrated National Popcorn Day and our founder’s birthday!

 

The reception our products received from local, regional and national buyers was nothing less than overwhelming.   More than a hundred people praised our gourmet popcorn cakes as the most innovative new food product of 2020. Several even dared to call us trendsetters.   We are excited to announce many new retailer locations to you in a future blog post so watch this space for our big news.

 

This past week, Popped Passion had the honor of joining the tribe of foodies, chefs and business women and men who discovered the beauty in new and innovative flavors, smells and textures of foods.

 

Our experience at the Winter Fancy Food Show will remain dear in our hearts. We are so thankful for all that it has taught us and all the opportunities it has given us. It was such a pleasure to be a part of the amazing food community, and we look forward to sharing more of our journey as new opportunities unfold. Stay with us, because big things are coming!
